A new week and a plea for Summer
Upon watching the violent insurrection on January 6, 2021:
"They were peaceful people. These were great people. The crowd was unbelievable. Did I mention the word love? The love in the air -- I've never seen anything like it."
~ Donald Trump the Love Sponge
My morning take on the news:
The bearish air on Wall Street today is just the typical manipulation using fear. I fully anticipate NASDAQ will drop another 1000 pts to 9,800 sometime in June which should be a buy signal. Smell opportunity, not fear.

Apparently cock fighting is still legal in Florida.
Donald Trump in recent months has been telling confidants that he may launch his 2024 presidential campaign early — and that he’s considering launching it in Florida to stick it to Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Trump has kicked around staging a large, flashy launch rally (with fireworks, of course) that would announce his White House bid before the 2022 midterm elections, according to three sources familiar with the matter.
People who’ve spoken to Trump say that one reason he’s eying the Sunshine State is to assert his dominance over an ascendant DeSantis, who — if they both run in 2024 — would likely be the former president’s most formidable competitor in a primary fight for the GOP nomination. One of the sources said Trump’s motivation is to show the governor “who the boss is” in the modern-day GOP.
Some people just totally love all the squawking and feathers from the little peckers.
There is no Team Normal in the GOP. There are just different levels of lie-infused performance art. Bill Barr is just a deathbed convert who previously eagerly embraced the Stolen Election narrative.
Come to think of it, nobody has a clue what normal is any more. We’re all a bit shell shocked from the various events - social, political and pandemic - of the past 6 years.
Post Traumatic What The Holy Hell Syndrome is my diagnosis.
Longtime blogger Steve M predicts the newly announced gun reform bill won’t be passed by both houses of Congress. His argument is logical so color me just as skeptical.
And it’s noteworthy that handguns already require the purchaser to be 21. So how is it controversial to add similar age restrictions on semi-automatics?
Much of the nation’s dealing with a record setting heatwave that will last till midweek. Not so here in the Pacific Northwest. April showers brought us May showers brought us June showers. The daily high has hit 75 or above just three times this month. And I don’t mean showery rain. We get repeatedly deluged, which isn’t normal. My potted plants get a lot of blossom drop each time a heavy rain appears.
I presume the transition to summer will be swift with temps soaring into the 90s before July 1. I promise to bitch about that too.
