Bits and Pieces of Random News
They're like April showers, from snow to rain to hail to cloudy to 70 degrees
Monday calls for some humor.
Only in America, right? You can be a family farmer working 20/7 to gain equity in your land, or a field worker on that farm putting in overtime for peanuts and marginal living conditions. If you’re lucky, you might get a small tax incentive or food stamps.
But if you have a half-baked idea that piggybacks on the reality that everyone got tired of the pandemic and some blamed the pandemic on politicians who fight for the middle class, then it’s pretty easy to get the top 1% to hand you a couple of million bucks to carry on a protest, no matter how inane and inept the protestors are.
The wealthiest mainly want tax cuts they don’t even need.
So the trucker’s convoy leaders still can’t figure out how to do a successful protest but hey, they’re getting paid better than they were running freight.
The former president, Donald Trump, was given a court ordered March 3rd date to produce requested documents but his lawyers requested more time, so he was given till March 30th. No documents were submitted. So now the judge has ruled today that he’s in contempt of court for not providing documents subpoenaed in the NY state attorney general's civil probe of his business practices. He’s ordered Trump to be fined $10,000 per day until he complies.
Expect excuses, lies and more stalling to continue. A man who never pays his debts is likely to find a way to continue that.
Or maybe he can get a new gig ‘Hoofing With the Has-Beens’, as one wag calls it.
The wag wasn’t referring to Trump. He was going after Disney execs.
(Yeah, more Monday humor. Sue me.)
Nearly till Biden's inauguration, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was texting Mark Meadows and floating the idea of Trump declaring "Marshall law" to stay in power. She just testified under oath saying she couldn’t recall if she did that or not. And does it matter that she doesn’t know how martial is spelled? No, it’s MT Greene, so ya gotta expect misspellings. And lies feigning forgetfulness. Only the misspellings are true.
"In our private chat with only Members, several are saying the only way to save our Republic is for Trump to call for Marshall law," Greene wrote to Meadows on January 17, 2021. "I don't know on those things. I just wanted you to tell him. They stole this election. We all know. They will destroy our country next. Please tell him to declassify as much as possible so we can go after Biden and anyone else!"

"I'm sorry nothing worked," she continued. "I don't think that President Trump caused the attack on the Capitol. It's not his fault. Antifa was mixed in the crowed and instigated it, and safely people followed.
Can’t spell ‘crowd’, either.
Elon Musk is buying Twitter for a mere $44 billion. Sounds like he plans to add an edit function and take it back to the days when no one is censored even when their words are contributing to a rising death toll or an insurrection based on deliberate lies.
This ranks up there with his self driving deathmobiles and towing a car into outer space. He’s like a 5 ring circus but maybe someday he’ll find actual productive work which is safer and boring.
There’s more evolving themes ahead in my reports. Things I’ve been working on long term and short. My first responsibility always has to be caregiving, but there’s much more in the works, as well.
Will Saletan is a punny guy.
I’ll let Rachel Price escort you to a fine Monday evening.
Safer and more boring? How about this - https://www.boringcompany.com/
