MAD AS HELL Americans are, for reasons
Note to readers: we all skip reading links because we get busy. For this missive, please skim the first 3 paragraphs of each, at least. Gracias.
The gloves are coming off because the wheels of our government are careening off. It’s put the pedal to the metal time, 6 months and 3 days till Election Day.
There’s just no time left to mince words.
1) If the president doesn’t get authorization to continue his War on Iran by midnight, he’ll be violating the War Powers Act. He claims the Act is unconstitutional but that’s not how laws work. Courts and Congress decide who can continue a longer war. Presidents have zero power to ever define what legal and illegal means.
As Heather Cox Richardson noted 3 days ago:
Elected Republicans don’t want to vote on his failed war and share the blame for gas prices. But they keep claiming they stand for law and order. It’s time to see the actual evidence of what elected Republicans stand for.
2) The completely sold out SCOTUS Justice Clarence T. is one of the guys who voted to let everything a president does ‘in the course of official duties’ be legal. So I expect this president will break the law again with his habitual murdering of people for oil profit.
3) I won’t lay any claim that the thwarted attack outside the Press Correspondents Dinner was a fake. Because of the great pains this administration goes to to promote fake events along with its deep sewer of compulsive lies, I understand why many presume the worst case is at work. My journalism training requires evidence, not theories. And I see no functional value nor electoral advantage promoting less.
One can get down in the trenches and fight with the superior weapons of brains (wisdom & logic) and common human values. Message better. Stop using their words and never use their cheat methods.
We use the law. The Constitution. The Bill of Rights.
They get to use Phony Jesuses, Fake Martyrs and ALL the stolen election efforts by Republicans that began 25+ years ago and escalated from 2020 till now. With this president getting more than 70 court cases filed making the claim of election fraud, no judge in any of those multiple states have found any evidence of it. This president was claiming the 2020 election was rigged BEFORE that Election Day. Courts and democracies need proof not the blithering idiocy of a bloviating blubberbutt continually pursuing such unprecedented grand larceny.
4) This president no longer deserves the dignity of a capital letter in his title or name. His vicious and desultory concoctions of cuckoo-headed phantasms are neither evidence nor anything approaching reality.
Specific places where evidence is missing include:
a) all the claims of fraud in government agencies that some racist, sexist psychotic billionaire claimed during his DOGE Data-steal tenure.
b) all the claims of multibillion dollar savings caused by DOGE cuts, which were made against the will or votes of any congressional majority.
c) all the claims of drug trafficking to the US by men in boats in the Caribbean or Pacific that were used to justify their murders without judges or juries, who require evidence to determine guilt and determine any and all penalties. These murders have all been illegal.
d) any evidence that the Iranian government violated any restrictions on nuclear enrichment under the agreement hammered out by the Obama administration. This president broke that agreement, voiding it. He created the problem and keeps making it worse.
e) any evidence that critical race theory was touted as truth in any public school in this country, EVER.
f) any evidence that this president is mentally healthy. His history of fabricating truth, of concealing his financial records, of using non-disclosure agreements to keep his hirees from revealing any truth is failing to convince the majority of American adults that his brain is in good shape. The visible and auditory evidence says otherwise.
There is plenty of evidence that this president has raped and sexually assaulted. It’s also 100% clear that a great deal of evidence about that horrendous child sex trafficking ring is being illegally hidden still. And that’s just the tip of the Everest-sized iceberg of stuff he’s also been hiding. A day without a broken law in DC is a day when this meshugge schmeckel and his petzl is busy breaking laws in Florida.
Thankfully, journalists like Katie Phang are busy utilizing legal procedures to end the Epstein file coverup. I sure hope the billionaires don’t kill her.
There’s also plenty of evidence he tried to extort the president of Ukraine to create false evidence, that he tried to bully his vice president to steal an election, that he’s perfectly content to see opposition lawmakers die and to pardon those willing to kill or maim those lawmakers.
But all I’m doing is reiterating what everyone already knows about this kafin kup. I could use a good editor to keep me on track with my principal effort here, to define the path forward with protests and messaging strategies that will flush this absurd excuse of dysfunctional kakistocrat down a shark infested bidet.
Ahem. Back to my intended points….
He’s not running for any office this year, after all. He’s just desperately trying to avoid being legally removed from office while feeding his three principal addictions to money, abusing women and promoting violent racism against non-Aryan people.
And my intent here is to define ways to defeat the most crooked and corrupted members of Congress and the Supreme Court in US history, who were formerly known as the Republican Party.
A significant minority of people who define themselves as MAGA are feeling betrayed by this president, so I think it works against our collective interests to spend any more time attacking those voters. We should focus on redirecting their beliefs that they’re being harmed by immigrants to the reality that billionaires and the ultra-wealthy are causing them far greater damage. I don’t expect that to convince more MAGA voters to abandon their ongoing support, but it may invite the newly departed MAGA voters to pressure the financial supporters of the guy who broke so many promises he made to them.
Bottom line: this incompetent mob boss and his Cialis-swilling minions are the direct result of law-hating, human rights adverse, elected Republicans and the fatcattery of arrogants who bought them their seats in Congress and state legislatures.
It’s way past time to focus on them not the country’s biggest loser and his MIA brain. There’s a big protest tomorrow. The Bannons and Millers and Musks and Thiels and Voughts and McEntees will keep on promoting chaos with fresh outrages designed to confuse us and make us feel overwhelmed. Bannon has touted this chaos strategy for more than a decade.
The reality is our long uphill climb to restore civility and humanity to our governing bodies is nearing the peak now. That overwhelmed feeling can be met with proper R & R followed by renewed and refreshed legs for the last mile to get there.
In recent meetings with friends invested in this struggle, there was notable confusion about what our May Day protest signs and messages should be. Anti-war? Anti-ICE? Anti-Misogyny? Anti- Racism? anti-trump? Anti-Techbro? Stop disenfranchising voters? Stop the coverup of the multiple sex criminals? There’s so many targets to choose from now and the messaging is becoming too scattered.
It’s so bad that our latest sold out Senate yokel Kyrsten Minchin Lieberman Fetterman is telling his constituents that they have TDS and should agree to build the ballroom that nobody asked for or ever wanted. (Some enterprising Pennsylvania journalist really oughta do a little digging to determine who bought him out.)
Today:
So here’s the kind of messaging I propose: stop mincing words. Don’t do what I just did, camouflaging my feelings behind Yiddish insults.
dj trump is a loser, losing again. Other than calling him a loser, there’s no need to pile on while he keeps digging his hole deeper, unassisted. It’s the Republican crooks we have to bring down.
There’s many ways to message ”How’s your wallet doing?” This has long been the most accurate predictor of an election outcome. Affordability is the central issue to the most people now, left and right. Use that and personalize it. Direct it at the Republican Senator or Representative running in your state: “How many family budgets do you plan to destroy to help that White House loser lose another battle again, Senator X?”
”Vote out the party who raised the price of your gas to the highest it’s ever been.” From today:
”If you have a beef with the Republicans, it’s the only beef any American can afford any more.”
”First they came for the working immigrants who provided tens of billions into the Social Security fund. Soon they’ll say Social Security is no longer affordable and they’ll take that away. Ever since Social Security was created by Democrats in 1937, it’s the oldest dream of elected Republicans to take that away.”
All these messages about prices and essential income will reach millions of voters effectively.
The president just told his hirees to change ICE to NICE, with the same schoolboy logic that used ‘BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL “ to steal more from the poor and hand it to his rich buddies. Don’t call it NICE or ICE. Call them the Republican Secret Police Gang. Or the Republican Anti-American Home and Hospital Invaders. Or the Republican Murder Patrols.
”For the safety of your family and neighborhood, end the anti-American Republican Murder Police in our cities.”
Keep hammering at the Republican members of Congress and state legislators. Dismiss djt as The Biggest Loser repeatedly. Or the Loser Who Keeps Putting Americans Last. Here’s who he puts first:
In addition to ripping the evil Republican lawmakers who created this dangerously mad monster, we definitely need to target its biggest funders and benefactors. I mean May Day is about a general strike of refusing to work and refusing to buy, right?
Just like the unregulated Gilded Age of robber barons created the Roaring Twenties of rampant overspeculation that inevitably ended with the Great Depression, the tech revolution of the past 35 years looks perilously similar. Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich has found one he calls the ‘worst’ and it’s hard to counter his claim. His pick? Jeff Bezos.
And the latest from the BezosBeast today:
There’s other old-fashioned ways the US public used to treat political and business scoundrels beyond economic boycotts. Like whatever happened to tar-and-feathering? I’m not urging anyone to go that far. It’s too torturous. A modern day alternative would use room temp molasses and feathers instead. While technically still a form of assault and battery, there’s no torture nor pain nor permanent injury involved. So the penalties for such public humiliation should, accordingly, be far less. Good trouble means breaking the bad laws to get the bad lawmakers out.
I do condone another revitalized rearrangement I call my own Modest Proposal. It should be an essay, that could be distilled into a sign somewhat like this.
Did you vote for another pointless Middle East war? Did you vote for more expensive healthcare, gasoline and food? A resurrection of measles or other
deadly diseases? An end to scientific experimentation and trials that created the first engine driven plane that after several re-engineering successes took us to the moon a mere 66 years later? Did you long for a return to lynchings perhaps? Was your vote cast to force women to surrender control of their bodily processes and to compel them to submit to men’s sexual demands without question? Do you believe - as Clarence Thomas does - that young people are culturally inferior and will destroy our government?
I sure the fuck don’t. I think it’s time that the words of the thousand-plus women survivors of the Epstein-Maxwell Pedophile Network are considered to be valuable evidence, not just a tiny bit of hearsay. I believe young voters will prove perfectly capable of voting out criminals and filling elective offices with more competence and ethical standards than Clarence Thomas has ever displayed and less cultural cultism than Ginny Thomas has proven capable of. And if the next president can’t convince Thomas or Alito to resign, I’d wholly support that president expanding the seats on the Supreme Court from 9 to 13.
Their decision yesterday to kill the Voting Rights Act was bought and paid for by Republican billionaires. Who’s got the molasases pot? They’re a third of the state’s population but now Black residents of Louisiana will only have a chance to elect a candidate of their choice for just one of six congressional seats.
Already, Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee Republicans plan to redraw their Congressional districts BECAUSE OF the ruling by the 6 Republican SCOTUS puppets.
I don’t think young adults or women voted to have the wealthiest 1 % controlling more than 30% of our country’s total wealth. Or for the top 10% wealthiest controlling 67 cents of every dollar. Or for 50% of the least wealthy (that’s 168 million Americans) limited to 2.4 pennies of every dollar of wealth in this country.
So the top 10% funds most of the Congressional and Presidential campaigns and in return, get the biggest tax breaks, tax shelters, tax havens and tax loopholes along with most of the government contracts. The elections aren’t rigged by any immigrant, by any Black person, by any young adult. It’s only the elected Republicans that keep on trying to rig it, just like they’ve done with their massive gerrymandering this year. Theft is all they know. Not providing things voters really want which is how normal democracies work.
WASHINGTON, April 28 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump’s approval rating sank to the lowest level of his current term, as Americans increasingly soured on his handling of the cost of living and an unpopular war with Iran, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.
The four-day poll completed on Monday showed 34% of Americans approve of Trump’s performance in the White House, down from 36% in a prior Reuters/Ipsos survey, which was conducted from April 15 to 20.
The Justice Department has sold us all out with former personal lawyer of The Biggest Loser in charge of it and the Republican crooks plan to steal the independence of the Federal Reserve Board next. Here’s the next thing the SCOTUS plans to overturn to keep their billionaire Republican puppetmasters paying their bills. Along with this. It’s not trump’s idea to push this. The crooked Republican billionaires made him their puppet too.
And it’s starting to look like some lower courts have been bought out too.
Remember, the Gnatzees and most authoritarian governments always start targeting foreigners, people of color, journalists, scientists, entertainers like musicians and comedians first. Sound familiar?
The news network of CBS has been bought off completely too. How much more evidence do you need?
Look, Democrats are proposing actual plans to meet our needs. Help with child care and help with down payments to make home ownership possible for all. Crooked Republicans have been promising their own affordable healthcare plans since the 1990s but they remain as invisible as the aliens in Roswell. All they want is to take away from America’s middle class backbone to make the oil barons and techbros and the cryptocarnies richer.
And don’t be fooled. When their AI plans take over millions of our jobs, how do you expect to pay your bills?
And the fraud known as DOGE was also intended to steal election results. Consider this fresh news about the data DOGE collected.
Newly obtained documents show a clear paper trail of Trump administration officials planning to share sensitive voter data with an outside political group trying to overturn elections, as part of a secret agreement.
The records — first obtained by Democracy Forward* through public record requests and ongoing litigation, and shared exclusively with Democracy Docket — include heavily redacted emails between government employees and the external group. They also include the signed voter data agreement and discussion of how data would be transferred between parties.
Really, read the whole story.
The documents come as part of a broader legal battle over DOGE’s access to Social Security data — including highly sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, financial records and medical data on millions of Americans.
That case has intensified in recent weeks. A federal appeals court recently described the government’s conduct as “alarming” and directed a lower court to reconsider the case in light of newly disclosed evidence, including the voter data agreement. A district court has since allowed discovery to move forward, meaning plaintiffs can now seek internal government records and communications.
Even with large portions blacked out, the records show that government officials moved forward with plans to exchange sensitive data in connection with election-related activity — and that more details may soon come to light as the case proceeds.
Sherilynn Ifill provides the history of the Voting Rights Act and subsequent civil rights protections, including how long John Roberts and Sam Alito have been trying to kill it. It’s the best thing I’ve read about the decision. I can feel her righteous anger.
That’s the same anger we all should be expressing now and tomorrow and the days after that.
”86 THE REPUBLICAN CROOKS AND THE FORMERLY supreme court CONTROLLED BY REPUBLICAN BILLIONAIRES !”
