A lot of people are understandably upset that CNN decided to follow a guilty verdict by throwing a rally for a sex offender.
It’s why I quit watching ALL national news on all networks. Because they’re failing and failing badly. They deliver speculation, gossip, odd car follows and promote the worst people all the time. DJ Trump has been the defendant in nearly 2000 lawsuits, most of them before he became president. A compulsive recidivist criminal. A national embarrassment because he makes the entire country seem nuts.
When’s the last time a TV journalist on the national or international beat broke a new story with investigative reporting? CNN Chairman Chris Licht can defend it all week long but it was Trump’s fanny that got well-Licht by the Republican CNN head.
Some of the print journalists regularly do investigative work but I just don’t see it on TV any more. And as an individual, there’s few ways to change it but I won’t watch CNN or quote it through the 2024 election and encourage you to do the same. Because hitting them in the pocketbook is the only way to restore real on-air journalism.

Ms. Carroll said she was infuriated when her longtime stylist told her on Thursday morning that the stylist’s 15-year-old son was talking about what Mr. Trump had said on television Wednesday.
“I am upset on the behalf of young men in America,” Ms. Carroll said. “They cannot listen to this balderdash and this old-timey view of women, which is a cave man view.”
Ms. Carroll, 79, is now weighing whether to file a new defamation lawsuit against Mr. Trump, said her lawyer, Roberta A. Kaplan. In addition to the case that ended Tuesday, Ms. Carroll has an earlier defamation suit against Mr. Trump, 76, that is still pending.

I’m angry that Big Media continues to promote the fictions of a serial liar, sexual predator racist terrorist like Trump, and 95% of the elected Republicans do too.

I’m irate that Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) says there should be no efforts to block extremist white nationalists from serving in the military. “I call them Americans,” he said. He also attacked President Biden for trying to remove them. Timothy McVeigh was a white nationalist military guy.
I’m pissed that cheap ass racist dickheads like Ammon Bundy can use legal loopholes created by wealthy politicians and lobbyists to avoid any repercussions for his repetitive crimes.
I’m furious that Texas responds to the ongoing slaughters of Americans and especially children, by loosening gun regulations. Most of the GOP across the country supports this bloodsucking bullshit too. The GOP is now just another violent hate group.
In the past two weeks, their War On Children has escalated. In several states, they’re rolling back Child Labor Laws to 1960s levels and some will take it back to the days before Teddy Roosevelt put the initial child protection laws in place. Some states are fighting to protect the rights of parents to permit their 12 and 14 year olds to marry
much older adults (and it’s not surprising that most minors getting married like this are girls… forced breeding stock).
Kids are feeling big time fear from the forced shooter drills they have to take. The drills have yet to save a single life. The GOP watches more mass shooting events occur than the 131 days of 2023 we’ve had. And. Does. Nothing. They hate kids and their legislation proves it. “here kids, save yourself b/c the grownups won’t.”
They claim it’s about mental illness. Anyone protecting guns and banning books demonstrates their own mental illness. And they don’t do shit to address mental illness either.
But they do make it harder for people to vote. The rapist they continue to support has never won the popular vote in a general election. Never. The only way they can win in 2024 is to try and get fewer Democrats to vote. The only way.
They do create new bogeymen like drag queens to hate with zero evidence that any drag queen has ever broken a law. In some states, they’re arresting doctors, in others it’ll be women who choose to abort a fetus getting locked up. And they’re causing medical staff to flee their states, meaning worse care for the citizens in their states. They talk about gay people or trans people ‘grooming’ children to be gay or trans. But the real grooming is done by the GOP who want their kids to know that:
1) employers have the right to exploit you and pay you less;
2) parents can sell you to the highest bidding adult who’ll compel you to have sex, to get pregnant and to be a babymaking machine while denying you any right to make decisions about your self. They’re gonna try to make no-fault divorces illegal to make it harder to escape from bad marriages, too;
3) if you get shot in school, it’s your fault;
4) cheating, lying and theft is what leaders do and should;
5) the Equal Rights Amendment would steal rights from women;
6) next we’re gonna make birth control methods illegal;
7) don’t read books b/c ideas will kill you; and
8) gotta cut Pell Grants so fewer people can build a capacity to think. Easier to make you rely on criminals to tell you what to do.

The SCOTUS might even go so far as to end state and local gun regulations. Wouldn’t that make you sleep better?
Additionally, most Republicans will make every excuse they can to keep George Santos in office, assuming that’s his real name. He got released on a half million dollar bond put up by… we don’t know. WHY NOT?! Why isn’t this mandatory public knowledge? This shadowy money stuff is getting way too old and is clearly harming the public and our democracy. Thanks Conservative misogynist SCOTUS members!
Whether it’s Trump, Santos or any SCOTUS justice appointed by a Bush or Trump, if you scratch below the dark money surface, you’ll see the same names over & over: Koch, Uihlein, Griffin, Yass, Mellon, Schwarzman, Thiel, Ryan, Hendricks and Adelman are 11 of the top 15 individual donors to an election cycle. Only four of the top 15 pour big cash to Democrats. Then there’s families like DeVos, Prince, Nix, and Mercer, who try to shift money around to keep their GOP donations secret. We can safely assume Leonard Leo and Harlan Crow are big GOP cash registers too.
Under the Roberts Court decrees, mega-wealthy people get to buy more free speech than us ‘little people’ do and if we criticize that imbalance, we’re instantly transformed into pedophiles, cannibals, babykillers, satanists and commies. Just ask Elon Musk.
The heads of most TV news networks? Republican. Almost everything is weighted to oppose any Democrat except … the majority will of the voters.
Yeah I’m apoplectic. If I want to leave tax free money to my heirs, I can only give them $10K per year. But I’m legally allowed to spend tens of millions - secretly - to politicians and their parties. Or to gift it to SCOTUS judges who provide unspoken ‘favors’…. hidden, off the record. Anyone offer your kid free tuition lately?
Legal and ethical are different things. We could pass laws allowing lynchings again and haters would say ‘hey, it’s legal.’ It’ll never be moral or just or fair, but haters can’t grasp those definitions because hate and greed are their only motivations. Thinking and compassion and sympathy and honor are way beyond the pseudo religious instruction provided by the haters who raised and taught them.
And on social media, I can be banned by an algorithm that has no concept of humor or of any actual community standard. Free speech? Ri-i-i-i-ight. Only guys with a few million get that human right.

And I’m pissed about the price of shelter. It was decided in January that I’d be looking for a new place to move into in mid-July. Now 8 or 9 weeks away and nothing’s available. Not in my Social Security retirement price range. Not even a room.
So my temperament has been put to the test personally and as a citizen. I have an appointment in two weeks with my PCP to discuss my depression that’s been yoyo-ing throughout 2023.
I hate these political and business assholes. I can’t afford to move to another country. It’s getting to a point where I’m considering buying a camper van for my next home or maybe a tiny memorial plaque.
Anger is good. It’s the only thing warding off that last option.
