The Committee Calls

To clarify the recent ruling that reversed Roe v. Wade, the conservatives on SCOTUS made clear Monday that a right to privacy does exist. But only if you’re a man. A man kneeling on a football field. But he’s gotta be white.

The biggest news item likely Tuesday is the sudden added public hearing by the January 6th Committee. Speculation ran rampant on social media last night about the identity of the ‘surprise witness’ who will appear and give testimony. Some thought it would be John Eastman, since he had his phone seized by investigators recently. That’s a no-go, since the messaging app he was using is likely going to take months to decipher. I’ll be looking for that info in November, at the earliest.

It appears the witness will be then-Chief of Staff Mark Meadow’s executive assistant, Cassidy Hutchinson. She’s already been seen on video and provided critical info. So why is she still being questioned?

The main new info we know the committee has obtained is the 100+ hours of video by British documentary filmmaker Alex Holder. My Spidey senses say the Tuesday hearing is related to that. It was reported last night that it includes Eric Trump giving verbal justification for violence occurring since the election was ‘stolen’. Shocking as that is, I feel certain there’s even more.

On the night of the first presidential debate, there was a meeting that included the Trump family and insiders like Steve Bannon. Holder got to film some of that but left early when Junior directed him to go.

As I’d observed that in the late Spring/early Summer of the election year, Trump was trailing in the polls and with the pandemic increasing the likelihood of an expansion of mail-in voting, he began attacking that method of voting. Then he changed the Postmaster General who began making drastic cuts in mail services. It suggested something unsavory was in the works.

So by September 29th when the debate occurred, what was being discussed by Team Trump? Strategy, obviously. But did that include a strategy in case he lost? By then he was trailing badly in the polls.

I think something in the video footage surprised the committee. I think there’s even more than the reports indicating Eric Trump supported the violence that occurred.. Whatever it is, I suspect they asked Ms. Hutchinson more questions based on things in the video, and her responses made it clear they were onto something the American public needs to know about. The video adds fresh weight to her testimony.

There’s also rumblings emanating from the Supreme Court in the form of Clarence Thomas about a desire to revisit past court decisions about gay rights and libel. He’s clearly displaying a propensity for authoritarianism to rival that of Donald Trump. With his wife under fire for her part in the effort to steal the election from the voting majority, and three new members appointed by Coup Leader #1 (Trump) this court may be poised to build a wall around the guy who appointed him if Thomas continues to ride his high horse in this direction.
