Weekly Tweetly Highlights and More
A federal judge JUST BLOCKED DeSantis’ bill to ban college instruction of institutionalized racism! This brave justice said, “The First Amendment does not permit Florida to muzzle its university professors, impose its own orthodoxy of viewpoints, and cast us all into the dark”
Elon Musk, claiming he conducted a legit poll which many doubt, reinstated the strange ex-president’s Twaitor account Friday after more than 15 million voted. People or bots? None can be certain. Apparently serial rapists & traitors must have a forum on twitter if enough people say ‘sure’.
Someone decided to conduct another poll in response:
63.5%? Sounds about right.
As for Trump, he now claims he has no interest in returning to Twitter. I presume his legal team told him to avoid Twitter so he wouldn’t incriminate himself further.
Here’s the bottom line on Elon Musk: he’s a misogynistic jerk with nefarious plans and outsized influence because of his excessive wealth. He should be shunned along with Twitter. The radical anti-majority violence support gangs in the world have failed to create a social network to match the ease of use that Twitter has, so Musk (and Thiel, and Prince Bonesaw, et al) intend to make Twitter their magaphone of vitriolic and abusive propaganda that’s classist, racist, xenophobic, misogynistic and homophobic.
We should never contribute to normalizing such hateful and violence-promoting actions. It’s not necessary to counter their violence with ours. In the weeks to come we should just abandon the site for better ones. Sure, it’s hard to break old habits and learn how to use sites that function a bit differently. But hard is not impossible.
And it’s absolutely necessary that we all make the effort. On Sunday, this is an example of the vile stuff Musk is putting out. It’s sick and absolutely wrong.

Grandpa? Why do we celebrate the holiday? Sit on my lap son & let grandpa tell you the story of this day You see, twitter only had enough engineers remaining to keep it running for one more night, but it miraculously kept working for eight nights We burn a Tesla in remembrance

At Q Club, a night and dance club in Colorado Springs, they were planning for a drag affirming lunch for Sunday, a Transgender Day of Remembrance "with a variety of gender identities and performance styles." The day of remembrance honors the at least 32 transgender and nonbinary people killed this year by violence and caps Transgender Awareness Week.
Saturday night a gunman opened fire, killing 5 people and wounding at least 25 more. Two unarmed gay men heroically stopped the shooter before he murdered others. The shooter’s the grandson of another whackadoodle election lying Republican officeholder.
I think it fair to ask when the carnage will stop and when the ostracism by Republican politicians is gonna stop, too. People deserve full and fullfilling lives and not the hate and violence which seems to be the only thing the GOP stands for any more.
The Republican Party, on the other hand, deserves to die as does the Supreme Court which has been thoroughly corrupted by that deadly party. It’s time for a Constitutional amendment to replace the SCOTUS with a judicial branch committed to justice again.
And sure, the other big news is the appointment of a highly skilled Special Prosecutor by US Attorney General Merrick Garland, who is a by-the books guy himself, not a party partisan. A lot of the work of dispensing justice has been done from the bottom up by the Justice Department and the Congressional January 6th Committee has done a lot of the in depth investigation into the traitorous insurrectionists.
All that effort has led to the top, to the inner circle of Trump and Trump himself, and this is the logical next step. The Special Prosecutor will have to fill in a few investigative blanks, present the evidence to a grand jury, most likely, then determine who gets prosecuted at and near the top.
Analysts don’t think this will occur very quickly, that Trump’s legal team can indefinitely evade and delay the prosecution phase. But I see that effort as largely exhausted. The SCOTUS can’t aid and abet Trump’s tactics without completely self-immolating.
From a political vantage point, the midterms have signaled the GOP leadership that Trumps influence is in a decline sufficient to rule out electoral victory by him in 2024 so they’re busy concocting ways to shift his Lunatic Fringe support to DeSantis before June, when primary season starts in earnest.
Facing at least 4 different teams of prosecutors for his variety of misdeeds, Trump’s Whinority Reports will have two other short term goals: (1) to lessen his losses and (2) to raise funds for his legal defense.
But every legal loss will make it harder to retain his base support. And I feel confident in predicting that the federal prosecution of Trump will begin in 2023 and will be completed before midsummer of 2024. Plus there’s too much evidence that we’ve already seen for him to avoid conviction.
I’m not suggesting he’ll be imprisoned, though. Based on his actions in the past 3 decades, I fully expect he’ll flee to exile to avoid that. He’s not loyal to this country nor anyone else.
I’ve been on vacation for 6 days already and won’t be home till next weekend. It’s been wonderful so far, spending time with siblings, their partners, a nephew and nieces, plus great-nieces too. As well as and especially with one of my marvelous kids. Haven’t had a real vacation in 8 years and this might be the best one I’ve ever had.
I’ve largely skipped the intensive scouring of multiple news sources this past week so my brain’s getting some extra rest too. I hope you get a chance for some healthy R&R this holiday season, plus a lot of refreshing love to pick up your spirits too.
