Q: Does the Bible provide guidance about the practice of abortion?
A: Ministers of the cloth sometimes provide interpretations based on their own biases but no, the Old and New Testaments offer no answers about the currently controversial practice. Abortion has been practiced for thousands of years and the Bible remained silent about it.
Q: Six members of the Supreme Court use the concept of ‘originalism’ to justify their decisions, the belief that the inventors’ intent has to be followed. Are they correct?
A: Of course they are! Just like the authors of the Bible were exactly right about everything. So Adam named every one of the millions of animals. (Genesis 2:18-20 ) Cain killed his brother than began procreating with an invisible wife. Noah fathered three sons when he was 500 years old, then sheltered 20,000 to 50,000 animals on his boat while God drowned every person on earth (even though several civilizations existed throughout the time of the Great Flood and made no mention of the event). Jacob wrestled with God and won because God’s such a weakling. (Genesis 32:24-30).
God also sent two bears to rip up 42 little children for making fun of Elisha’s bald head. (2 Kings 2:23-24). Etc & etc.
Similarly, a small group of wealthy white English men thought of everything that any government ever should need and created a way to amend the Constitution to make Black people whole persons 78 years later and gave Women the right to own property and vote 132 years later. Smart!
Original inventors always get everything right.
Q: Were the fake electors Trump tried to get recognized in Georgia really that dumb, voluntarily answering questions that could get them prosecuted?
A: Absolutely. All the ‘you’re-so-dumb-that’ jokes can be applied.
Q: Some critics claim ex-President Trump has a long history of interacting with the Mafia. US Mafia, Russian Mafia, any Mafia. Could this be true?
An author says: Of course.
Semion ‘Brainy Don’ Mogilevich of Russia says: I never heard of this Trump guy. We only launder our money through casinos and real estate developers.
Jimmy Hoffa: Mmmmmmphhh!MMMMmmm!
Donnie Jr: Will you be my daddy? That’s a Life of Brian reference.
General Mike Flynn: I never met with nobody. I withdraw my guilty plea. I plead the Fifth Dimension. Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon.
Kimberly Guilfoyle: You think I’m funny? Do I look like I’m joking?
Mike Lindell, CEO of MyHorseheadPillow, says: I know the answer but first you have to buy a pillow.
Watchdog Joe The Fixer Cuffari: Do I look like a mook?
Q: Is Hunter Biden guilty?
A: Guilty of being a sex-crazed drug addict? Yes.
Guilty of utilizing his Dad’s position to wangle a better income? Like many political relatives have done (Donald Nixon, Billy Carter, Neil Bush, Ron Reagan Jr, Donald Trump Jr), Hunter Biden has gained financial advantages because of his father’s positions as Senator and Vice President. Many, many non-political relatives of well-off people gain similar financial advantages. To date, several investigations have yielded no evidence of illegal activity.
Famous people have children that are great successes while also having kids that embarrass them. Just like non-famous parents do.
At age 2 and 4, Beau Biden and Hunter Biden lost their Mom and sister and endured life threatening injuries when they were broadsided by a tractor trailer. Beau Biden would go on to become a lawyer, a state attorney general and gained a Bronze Star for his courageous work as an active duty soldier in the Army, working in a combat zone during the War on Iraq. He died of brain cancer 7 years ago at the age of 46.
Hunter Biden, who sustained a fractured skull and severe traumatic brain injuries in that deadly traffic accident before he turned 3, would serve as a Jesuit volunteer after getting his Bachelors degree, then earned his law degree. Every position he’s taken since has drawn scrutiny because of his Dad’s elective positions.
He held a consultant position at the bank holding company MBNA and rose to be an executive VP there. He then held a position in the US Commerce Department during the Clinton administration. That was followed by a stint as a lobbyist at a firm he helped co-found. He and his Dad established a policy of not discussing anything about his lobbying work to avoid conflicts of interest.
He then spent 5 years on the board of Amtrak, a position that George W. Bush appointed him to. He resigned from that when his Dad became VP, again to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest. But from 2006 through 2019, he also co-owned a hedge fund and his investments and board positions afterward have been politicized by Donald Trump.
Specifically, Trump has targeted his board positions on a Chinese venture capital company that funds tech start-ups, automotive parts and mining, and a Ukrainian company that pursues natural gas exploration. Trump falsely claimed that Hunter’s company had $1.5 billion from the Chinese company and that he personally made millions off the deal.
Regarding the China board, from Wikipedia: According to his lawyer, Biden had "not received any compensation for being on BHR's board of directors" nor had he received any return on his equity share in BHR.[43] Biden's lawyer George Mesires told The Washington Post that BHR Partners had been "capitalized from various sources with a total of 30 million RMB [Chinese Renminbi], or about $4.2 million, not $1.5 billion"
This newsletter’s too short to detail all the drama about his work with the Ukrainian company, but you can read 10 to 12 paragraphs here if you want the specifics.
Essentially, Hunter’s work there has been scrutinized by Trump’s DOJ, the Ukrainian government and numerous media outlets and no evidence has emerged of any illegal nor unethical activities. Joe Biden’s DOJ is also actively investigating Hunter, though that’s focused on a laptop and emails on it.
Not having access to that evidence, no one can predict the outcome yet, though I can make a best guess.
1) Hunter has detailed his struggle with drug and alcohol addiction in a book. He’s in recovery, occasionally has done a rehab stint and said his worst relapse occurred when his brother Beau died. Other than the use of illegal drugs, no other criminal activity tied to his addictions has emerged.
2) He has owed back taxes at least once but that bill has been paid.
3) It’s uncertain whether he’s filed all the proper paperwork as a lobbyist. If he failed to, that’s typically a civil matter that results in fines. With all the scrutiny focused on him for the past 7 years, I expect any paperwork mistakes - if any existed - have been corrected. But so far, no evidence has emerged to indicate anything was ever wrong here.
4) Though well paid for his work for Burisma Holdings, which was trying to clean up a past record of questionable dealings by a corrupt CEO, no evidence has emerged that Hunter did anything illegal or even ethically questionable in his board position.
5) The remaining speculation is about his laptop (and iCloud) and the emails they contain. One email implies someone might get a chance to meet his father but others indicate no expectations of access to Joe should be anticipated. It’s also unclear if any doctoring of the emails by Trump associates have occurred.
6) I predict Hunter will be exonerated of any crimes for his lobbying work. He might face a civil penalty for improper paperwork. Biden’s forthcoming DOJ decision will likely be attacked by Biden opponents - accusing him of whitewashing the investigation - but the crucial component of actual evidence will remain missing. And there’s no scandal at all about emails being deleted by Hunter. Nothing that’s emerged indicate any wrongdoing that could jeopardize his law license even.
7) My best guesses are only that. I expect to see a culmination of the current DOJ investigation into Hunter within the next 6 weeks.
But a comparative is definitely in order.
The old adage that ‘politics makes strange bedfellows’ is important. The US defeated Nazi Germany but did so in alliance with the brutal Russian dictator, Stalin. There’s lots of questionable, tyrannical governments we’ve been allied with through the years, under presidents of both parties. Each alliance must be judged on the merits of each.
That doesn’t appear to be the case with Ukraine which has actively sought to clear out corrupt pro-Putin politicians for many years now. They elected a Jewish entertainer without a political background as part of that.
Trump, though, has had questionable financial dealings with Russia stretching back over 3 decades. His attorney - Rudy Giuliani - plus Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone and others have done work with Russian entities and some involved Russian intel figures. Trump and some of these associates have openly rooted for Russia in its war on Ukraine. These are far more serious than anything Hunter is even alleged to have done.
Trump, with the insurrection that threatened the life of his Vice President and others, has mirrored the efforts of dictators like Putin and the Saudi Prince. Kill off critics or jail them. Eliminate anyone who won’t do their bidding. These are obviously more serious than the allegations against Hunter, too.
And key to this all? Zero evidence exists that Joe Biden has done anything wrong, regarding Hunter. I can confidently predict that no Joe Biden wrongdoing will be found at the end of this.
Joe Biden’s not perfect. I’ve criticized him and others over his career for several major policy mistakes, on abortion in the 1980s, on crime policy in the 1990s along with his treatment of Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas confirmation. And like many Democratic Senators, he was wrong on the 2002 vote to grant Bush the power to invade Iraq.
But I’ve never witnessed any mistreatment of women in his personal life, he’s regularly lauded for his parenting in the wake of the tragic vehicle accident, there’s not even an allegation of any financial improprieties in his long career. Any Hunter misdeeds will be Hunter’s to own, not his father.
Having seen, within my own family, friends and clients, what addiction to alcohol or hard drugs can do, I understand well that it’s a disease rooted in brain circuitry more than personal choice. It can lead to misjudgments in other areas of one’s life. Hunter has made some poor relationship decisions, but to date, any evidence of professional misdeeds is only allegations and hearsay.
Evidence so far demonstrates nothing for Hunter to be guilty of.
Q: It’s not easy to assess what Trump has done wrong. I get easily confused by news overload. Is he potentially guilty of something?
A: I’ll try to summarize briefly, borrowing from several other unattributed memes.
Here’s the first meme a friend posted without identifying the source.
Um… yikes.
Yes, there’s more: though he wasn’t convicted for his illegal suspension of military aid to Ukraine that Congress had authorized, he came a handful of votes away from losing the second, regarding the insurrection effort he caused. He was rebuked loudly and clearly by the Republican Senate Majority leader. Twenty Republicans who voted against a conviction said they did so because he was already out of office, so he didn’t even carry one third of the Senate’s support.
He’s also previously lost several civil cases about past business activities and has been ordered to pay restitution to victims of his lies.
Also, per FactCheck.org:
President Donald Trump’s namesake charitable foundation agreed to cease operations in late 2018 as part of an agreement with New York’s attorney general, who alleged that the nonprofit organization was improperly leveraged to further Trump’s business and political interests. A November court order resolved the lawsuit, and Trump ultimately paid a total of $2 million in damages to eight charities, which also received equal portions of the foundation’s remaining $1.8 million.
This occurred midway through his only term as president.
I feel certain he’ll face indictment in the Georgia election case within 2 months. I’ve seen no indicators that any other indictment from NY, the SEC or the federal DOJ will occur before the midterm elections.
Wealthy people have the means to delay prosecution efforts for years. And ex-presidents can use executive privilege claims that can stall investigations for many months. Trump’s an expert at delays beyond that as well. This recent tweet by Tristan Snell defines his latest one:
I’ll add that he also cheated on his third, current wife while she was pregnant and paid that porn star $130,000 to keep silent about it which might qualify as the most expensive one night stand in history.
With more than two dozen other women alleging he either assaulted or raped them, one is midway through seeking damages and now has a trial date set for next winter.
Trump is in serious legal trouble which is why he dupes his followers into giving him more money all the time. And the only real reason he has to run for office again in 2024 is his hope that he can revoke all judgments against him, get the judges thrown out of office, declare martial law to avoid all punishments and to jail his political opponents and critics. I’m alleging these are his motivations. I have no proof, just the circumstantial evidence of all his past behavior, professional, political and personal.
Which is far worse than anything done by the entire Biden family, Obama family, Clinton family and Carter family, combined. As well as their combined staffs and appointees.
It remains highly likely that Trump will be convicted of some of these crimes. The evidence has moved beyond circumstantial against him and it’s harder to get the state crimes dismissed.
But back to Hunter Biden…. maybe a closer comparison exists by comparing Biden’s descendants to Trump’s.
Ivanka and Jared failed a security clearance to serve in Trump’s administration, but he found an end-around to appoint them anyway. Jared proceeded to fumble the Trump pandemic response plan where the only success story was the funding of vaccine development. And after his term ended, while Biden was regularly criticizing the Saudi Prince for ordering the murder and dismemberment of a media critic, Jared Kushner obtained a deal with the Saudi government.
Via Wikipedia:
Within the Trump administration, Kushner had been a staunch defender of Saudi ruler Mohammed bin Salman.[6] In 2021, Kushner started an investment firm, Affinity Partners. He sought funds for the new company through the sovereign wealth funds of Gulf countries.[170][171] Advisers for the Public Investment Fund, the Saudi government's sovereign wealth fund, expressed several concerns about the transaction—including the inexperience of Affinity management, the degree of risk to be assumed by the Saudi kingdom, an "excessive" management fee, and a finding that Affinity's operations were "unsatisfactory in all aspects". However, PIF management overruled them and invested $2 billion in Kushner's firm, only six months after Kushner had left the White House.[6] The firm primarily depended on Saudi money, as, by April 2022, it only had $2.5 billion under its management.[6] According to ethics experts, the investment created the appearance of potential payback for Kushner.[6] The House Oversight Committee said on June 2, 2022 that it had opened an investigation into whether Kushner had traded on his government position to get the deal.[172]
So Hunter Biden made $50,000 a month from his position at Burisma in Ukraine, or $600,000/yr.
Jared has a $2 BILLION deal, compliments of the Saudi government which prefers to do business with Trump, not Biden, a constant critic. And by refusing to pump more oil to lower gasoline prices, a chief driver of the current inflationary spiral, the Saudi government is well aware that this will hurt Biden in the midterms.
Collusion with Russia’s interference in the 2016 election couldn’t be proven but Russia’s interference was obvious. Now it appears the Saudi government is directly influencing US elections, though it’s even harder to prove that’s their intent.
But since I wasn’t born yesterday, it’s pretty obvious what’s happening here.
President Biden just met with Saudi’s rulers to remind them this is not about him and that the current administration plays a major role in keeping Iran’s nuclear plans in check and in the supply of military weaponry that keeps the Saudis safe.
But Jared - who has a reputation to rebuild with a memoir due to come out next month - still walks away with TWO BILLION DOLLARS to invest and a high salary for himself as part of it.
I don’t think Hunter’s substance abuse and sexual escapades are even in the same ballpark as Jared’s.
Q: I thought this was gonna be a humor piece. What happened?
A: The Trump era continues a little while longer. He’s ruined my funnybone way too much. I’m a hope and kindness addict but this high level of relentless corruption has reduced me to very sad puns.
Any more questions?
